I visited a Mont Blanc boutique today in Guadalajara, Mexico just to see a 1912 fountain pen. It is nice, though the local staff new little about it. Apparently, the cap does not post on the pen so, there is the risk of loss. Even without the cap, the pen is quite heavy albeit, well balanced and, comfortable in the hand. With all the mechanisms I am certain there is not much capacity for ink inside the pen. I’m with you, for $1,100 USD, this thing should sing and dance. By comparison, the 333 pieces of the titanium limited edition released October 2012 were $13,600!!!
