Here’s a very dark purple ink from Diamine. Eclipse is so dark that it appears black in wet pens. It’s got a very attractive sheen to boot.

A very violet-tinged blue ink. I was disappointed in its performance, and, honestly, on general principle because J. Herbin didn’t give this ink the gorgeous sheen that has drawn so many faithful to Rouge Hematite, it’s blood red sister ink.

Here is Waterman Black in a few different pens. This is one of my favorite black inks. It’s not a completely “black” black, but it’s got plenty of soul in its tint, shading, performance, and sheen.
