Here’s a great, sheen-heavy blue that reminds me of Diamine Majestic Blue. It seems that there are quite a few blues with reddish sheens (Majestic Blue, Aurora Blue, Sailor Sky High, Diamine China Blue).

This is a great ink, so long as you’re using quality paper. One copy paper its performance is lacking.

Here’s an interesting ink offering from J. Herbin, though I can’t say I see myself ordering a full bottle any time soon. I’ll stick with my favorite Herbin green—Vert Réséda.

Here’s one of my favorite almost-pure blue inks. I say almost pure because I consider Noodler’s Blue the “bluest” blue of all the inks I’ve tried. They’re very similar, but I do prefer Midway Blue’s depth over the standard Blue’s.

This ink is part of the V-Mail Series modeled after several unused bottles of ink from the WWI-WWII era. I’ve found performance issues (feathering, bleedout, and bleedthorugh, to be precise) with every V-Mail color I’ve tried except for this one and North African Violet, another one of my favorites.

This is a violet-blue ink similar to its more heavily dyed brother, Bleu Ocean. I’m not sure if my sample was a fluke, but it is VERY violet tinged. Performance is surprisingly lacking for the normally well behaved Herbin ink.

Here’s a very dark purple ink from Diamine. Eclipse is so dark that it appears black in wet pens. It’s got a very attractive sheen to boot.

A very violet-tinged blue ink. I was disappointed in its performance, and, honestly, on general principle because J. Herbin didn’t give this ink the gorgeous sheen that has drawn so many faithful to Rouge Hematite, it’s blood red sister ink.

A gorgeous, vibrant green that I highly recommend. Diamine inks have really grown on me lately.

This is one of, if not my favorite, shading ink. Gorgeous and highly recommended!

I love this gorgeous ink that is a true shade of sepia, rather than a light brown as many other “sepia” inks are.

A wonderfully muted purple belonging in the Noodler’s Russian series of inks.
